The Spore Board was my senior year design project. I wanted to do my senior project on something that used all the skills I had learned throughout my time in school. It was a showcase of my skills and personal passions in life. I grew up surfing and had always tried to incorporate it into a project but had never found the right opportunity until now. I had always tried to incorporate sustainability into my designs and this was the perfect project to make it come together. The surfboard industry has been making the same board for years; from non-recyclable foam and epoxy. I wanted to take on the challenge of trying something new.
